Upcoming exhibition | Hong Kong Design Annex at the Arts Pavilion, Hong Kong
The Hong Kong Design Annex exhibition, conceptualized by Lim + Lu, and organized by Designworks Foundation, aims to celebrate and showcase design visionaries of Hong Kong in the realm of furniture, lighting and product design. The exhibition provides a platform for these talented individuals to display their innovative works, highlighting their unique perspectives and creative prowess.
To create an immersive and captivating experience for visitors, Lim + Lu envisions a pavilion made from fresh bamboo. This pavilion will feature both above and below reflective surfaces, resulting in a mesmerizing interplay of light and shadow. As visitors walk through the exhibition, they will immerse themselves in an enchanting “infinity bamboo forest.” The meandering path will lead visitors on a journey of discovery, unveiling the beautiful and thought-provoking design pieces hidden within.
The choice of bamboo as a primary material pays homage to Hong Kong’s signature bamboo scaffoldings. It reflects the exhibition’s commitment to sustainability, as bamboo is a renewable resource with a myriad of applications.
